Artwork Specifications
Artina offers the first 30 minutes of artwork time at no charge to you. Each additional 30 minutes will be billed at a rate of $30 each additional 30 minutes. E-mail artwork to: artwork@artina.comThe following information must accompany your artwork:
- Company name
- File type (i.e. Illustrator, Photoshop, etc)
- Account Executive name
- Contact person name and phone number
- Please include “Client Artwork - (Client Name)” in the subject header.
- Be sure to also include artwork Pantone Colors.
Hard copy artwork is Camera Ready if:
- Correct size
- Crisp clean black and white line art, requiring no touch-ups.
Hard copy artwork is NOT Camera Ready if:
- Full color
- Photo copied or faxed
- Business card, stationary or newsprint
- Smudged, soiled, bent or torn
- Contains any halftones or graytones
ELECTRONIC ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS:
- We use Mac platform- Mac OS X - 10.4.5
- We accept art on: Zip disk’s, CD’s, and prefer e-mail (contact us for larger than 10MB email)
UNACCEPTABLE PROGRAMS AND FORMATS of DIGITAL ART
- Microsoft Publisher, MS Word****, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Paint
- Word Perfect or any other word processing software.
- Corel Draw (must be exported as an .ai or .eps file)
- JPEG, .jpg (web image) - Unusable - resolution too low
- GIF, .gif (web image) - Unusable - resolution to low
- PDF (unless PDF is created in Illustrator)
- Any web images - Unusable - resolution to low
- Any program not mentioned above
ACCEPTABLE ART FORMATS
- TIFF**, BMP**, Photoshop EPS** (Certain restrictions apply to bitmap images)
- Encapsulated Postscript (EPS) (created in Illustrator*) (all fonts converted to paths)
- Adobe Illustrator CS2 or earlier (preferred) (all fonts converted to paths)
- Freehand MX 2004 or earlier (all fonts converted to paths)
- PDF (if created in Illustrator) (all fonts converted to paths)
Adobe Illustrator CS2
* Please Note: Photographic or placed images are NOT suitable to our factories printing process. If you place or embed JPEG, TIFF, GIF, or PSD images into a vector art program, this does not change them into a vector image by doing so. Please convert all fonts to outlines.Adobe Photoshop CS2
File Types Accepted: TIFF (600 dpi or higher), BMP (1200 dpi or higher), EPS (600 dpi or higher- non-vector)** Please Note: These images cannot be manipulated or color separated, 1 color imprint is recommended.
If you have a web image at 72 dpi DO NOT increase the resolution to 600 dpi in Photoshop, this will cause extreme blurring and jagged edges.
NON-VECTOR ART IS ACCEPTED, HOWEVER, OUR FACTORIES DO NOT ACCEPT THIS FORMAT. THEREFORE, THE ARTINA ART DEPT. WILL NEED TO CONVERT THE ART INTO A VECTOR FILE, WHICH MAY INCUR AN ART CHARGE.
Adobe InDesign CS2
All fonts must be collected and accompany file. All placed images (TIFF, EPS, JPEG, BMP) must be collected and accompany file, see above for appropriate resolution. Please call and ask if this is acceptable for your product before sending art.*** Color separated printing process or spot color printing (printing multiple colors - usually used in screen printing) requires the art be created as a vector file in Illustrator or Freehand. All colors should be specified as Pantone spot colors.
